CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA FOR THE FOODIE
Charlottesville is in the heart of Virginia; a city that effortlessly combines history, culture, and Southern charm all in one. It’s conveniently located 1.5h from Richmond, VA and 2h to Washington, DC. During a recent one-night visit, I had the opportunity to scratch the surface of this vibrant small city while I took in art, good food, wine and the beautiful views.
Luxury Stay and Local Libations
Kick off your foodie adventure in style at The Forum Hotel by Kimpton. This chic hotel puts you in the heart of the action, close to the downtown mall and many restaurants as well as the University of Virginia Campus. If there is a Kimpton on my journeys it always wins. They have such fun and up to date hotels with fantastic hospitality. I especially love the happy hours and snacks at breakfast. The forum hotel even gave me my favorite Italian water upon check-in. Yes, please!

For an upscale pre-dinner drink, head to 1799 Clifton. Nestled in a historic mansion, this cocktail bar and restaurant offers innovative libations and mouthwatering appetizers, the perfect way to whet your appetite for the evening’s culinary journey. I enjoyed some delicious white wine paired with oysters, which are a personal fave.

A Bagel to Remember:
Start your next day right with a breakfast of champions at Bodo’s Bagels. These legendary bagels are crafted with the perfect balance of chew and crisp, and come with a variety of tempting toppings to choose from. My personal fave is an onion or garlic bagel with veggie cream cheese. Now, I’m from the land of good bagels and these did not disappoint. There are three locations to choose from, so if you’re looking for a taste of New York head over and grab yourself a bagel!

This museum houses a diverse collection of art spanning centuries, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary works.
Of course, no visit would be complete without a visit to the iconic Rotunda at the University of Virginia. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, this architectural masterpiece is a symbol of the university’s commitment to education and a must-see for any visitor.
